Learning Areas
The facilities and chairs of the Department of Mathematics and Data Science are mainly located in the Felix Klein Building, Cauerstrasse 11 in Erlangen. In addition, several study areas are available to the students of the teaching unit in the Felix Klein building for joint exchange as well as for group and individual work:
The communication zones (rooms 01.373, 02.315, 02.331, 03.373 and 04.373-1) can be used by students as study and work rooms for group work.
The lounge (room 02.373) can be used as a meeting room on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The lounge should not be used as a study or work room.
Workstations are available for students in the PC pools (PC pool 1 / 00.230-128 and PC pool 2 / 00.326-128 and internship 1 / 00.325-128).
The Mathematics, Computer Science and RRZE Library (18MI) is part of the Erlangen-Nuremberg University Library and is available to all students and staff of the Departments of Mathematics and Data Science.
Rules for using the practice rooms during the lecture-free period (vacation operation)
The practice rooms can also be opened for groups under special conditions.
Please note the following:
- During the department’s vacation period, students must first use the communication zones as practice rooms.
- If there are five or more people, a practice room can be opened if it is available (free).
- The chairs’ meeting rooms must be kept closed.
- Attention must be paid to cleanliness!
- If the blackboard is used, it must be wiped clean when leaving the room.
- Locking the room must be organized by the students.
- Regular opening hours: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
They can only be opened by the offices (Department of Mathematics or Data Science), the Department of Teaching and Studies or a secretary’s office if you provide your name, matriculation number and a signature!
